Nuctemeron Descent is the third album from Australia's Abominator, a savage release that draws influences from bands such as Angel Corpse, Destroyer 666 and Krisiun. The music is black/death metal played in the old-fashioned way.

The compositions are in no way innovative or for that matter interestingly put together. They seem limited and uninspired; however, the music is well played and does contain a certain charm. Yet they never really manage to excite the listener to the extent that he'd stay focused or be ecstatic. Nuctermeron Descent pretty quickly becomes a stale and dormant affair of endless guitar riffs and drum galore, which seem to be running on cruise control, making it predictable and uninteresting. The production is raw yet clear, making it easy to hear what's going on, but unfortunately it doesn't help much on the overall impression.

Nuctermeron Descent is an album that will drown in the ever-growing amount of average releases that are spewed out these days.
