ABOUT SUPREME BRUTALITY AND ME
Supreme Brutality.net is a non-for-profit fanzine, I don't do this for the money, I don't do this because I have to, I do this because I love death metal, grindcore, goregrind and want to share my interest for this kind of music. It's as simple as that.
I've been a fan of death metal for almost 20 years. It started with Death: Spiritual Healing in 1990, and soon after Sepultura: Beneath the Remains and Entombed: Left Hand Path. I discovered grindcore and goregrind a little later on. I've grown up listening to bands like Death, Suffocation, Entombed, Immolation, Obituary and Deicide, to name some.
I was webmaster for the Danish magazine Metalized in the period 2000-2003, but things began to fall apart in 2002 and in 2003 the magazine vanished totally, so it was time to move on. As a result of this I decided to start Supreme Brutality.net in October 2003.
In January/February 2004 Lars Lolk, who I knew a bit from the Metalized days asked if I would be interested in joining Metal-Reference [later known as Antenna]. I quit Antenna in September 2009 because I have less free time nowadays and I want to fully concentrate on Supreme Brutality.net, however it looks like I possibly will write a review or two for Antenna now and then.
Moreover I've contributed a bit to Metal Royale in 2007-2008. It was fun to be able to help a bit with the concerts and the Royale Metal Festival.
Bands, labels, distributions etc. should get in touch! I'm always on the lookout for some brutal music to review and bands to interview.
ATTENTION - please read the info below before you send any material for review!
Supreme Brutality.net support death metal, grindcore, goregrind and extreme subgenres very closely related to the aforementioned.
Please don't waste your money and my time by sending music that isn't strongly related to the genres I listed above because it won't be reviewed.
I'm aware that the term death metal is widely [ab]used nowadays, but when I write death metal I think of music in the vein of Death, Origin, Suffocation and Dismember among others, not soft music like Soilwork. Nor do I think of thrash metal or hardcore with growls either - so nothing of this, please.
The explanation to why I don't review anything that isn't death metal, grindcore or goregrind is simple, it doesn't interest me much. Therefore there's no point in sending music that I don't have an opinion about.
In case you're not sure whether or not your music is suitable for Supreme Brutality then please don't hesitate to mail me.
When you send me CD's please be sure they are in bubble envelopes or similar as I've received a lot of damaged CD's lately. The Danish postal service are rough and not very gentle with the letters/packages so please keep this in mind as it would be a damn shame to you and me if the discs are broken/damaged.
