The Canadian four-piece Abriosis plays technical death metal in the vein of Necrophagist. I wouldn't say it's all conventional, but it's not like the band is different from so much else. That of course doesn't make the music less good and Abriosis do understand how make things exciting.

The music is diverse and full of abnormal parts and changes. The riffs are good and on the whole there isn't anything bad to say about the song-writing. I like how a short solo pop up now and then, like on "Memories of a Traitor". It adds a bit of contrast.

The bass surface now and then, but it's not as audible as it could have been. The vocals are just like the music diverse, but also conventional. It's the same blend of low end growls and a more shouting type of vocal that many other bands also use, but nonetheless it works like it should.

The drumming is good as well and Abriosis is plays tight and with nerve. Something I don't like much is how the band put a sample from "Blinded by the Light" by Manfred Mann's Earth Band in the middle of "Bottom Feeder". It feels misplaced, but apart from that it doesn't spoil too much.

Something that on the other hand doesn't hurt is the meaty and crisp production. There's a good balance in the production and none of the details seem to vanish. Abriosis is a good EP that promise well for what next to come.
