When Bathtub Shitter appeared at the Giants of Grindcore festival in Salzgitter, Germany in 2004 the gig was recorded and the result of this has now surfaced in shape of Shitter at Salzgitter [Live in Germany 2004]. Usually I'm not fond at all of live CD's, but the Japanese grindcore wackos put on a pretty good performance. The sound is fat and full, but clear enough to hear what is going on. It sounds like some editing has been done in between the songs. It's impossible not to notice, but nothing that changes anything.
The quartet plays a diverse selection of material including songs from the Lifetime Shitlist album and the Wall of World is Words EP. Shitter at Salzgitter [Live in Germany 2004] is probably not that interesting unless you're a fan of Bathtub Shitter and their awkward grindcore, but if you are a fan then this release is hard to avoid. Overall I find Shitter at Salzgitter [Live in Germany 2004] to be pretty good and it's certainly an alright effort to kill time with while we wait what next the crazy Japanese has in store for us.
