I liked the Still Human, Still Humane? EP so it was with certain interest that I gave the latest effort from Beyond Terror Beyond Grace a listen. It's clear that the Australians find great inspiration in bands like Napalm Death and Discharge. The music on Extinction/Salvation is grindcore with a good amount of punk elements mixed in. The songs are of course short and direct, but with a great deal of variation.

Musically Beyond Terror Beyond Grace do very well, but a downside on Extinction/Salvation is the typical grindcore/punk production which is dry and kind of flat. Somehow this steals a lot of the intensity in the music and makes it sound rather thin. Unfortunately the band has a hard time compensating for this and thus Extinction/Salavation end up becoming a straight forward and ordinary release. It's not bad, but not too exciting either.
