Bestial is a teaser of what to expect of the upcoming The Key to a Black Heart. Blood Mortized play death metal the Swedish way. The music is in the vein of Crypt Of Kerberos, Interment and early Entombed. The songs are not atypical for the genre and the trio does also rely on all the clichs linked to this kind of music, and I like it.

The Swedes doesn't play all that fast, instead the band keep things on a moderate scale. The music is diverse and overall quite interesting. "Of Dust and Doom" is the song that differs the most from the other tracks. It's slow and has a militant kind of drumming to it. The rest of the songs are straight forward old school death metal, but it works the way it should.

The production is dirty, but beefy. It's not far from the sound that Sunlight Studio was known for. The four songs on the EP doesn't offer anything different, but if you like old school death metal, then you'll love Blood Mortized.
