Brutalcore is a four-piece from Istanbul, Turkey. The band plays simplistic, but brutal death metal. The music is straight forward and not particular catchy. I wouldn't say that the music is bad, but there are things that affect the songs in a somewhat harmful way.
I like the low end vocals, but a problem is that there's little or almost no variation to them. It does wear of on the actual music. Another issue is the production. It doesn't help the music much that it has a thin grindcore vibe to it. I'm sure this is mostly to blame for the band not sounding very tight.
On a positive note the four-piece use a lot of samples and intros. These work really well and do to some extent make up for lack of catchiness that the music often has. The Turks have chosen to include renditions of Sodom's "Blasphemer" and Death's "Zombie Ritual". The later doesn't sound much like the original, but the Sodom song the band do really well.
Awakening of Conqueror is not better or worse than so much else. I miss a more meaty sound and some better riffs, but when all this is said I did find the MCD to be okay.
