BUICIDE - Evaluation Machines
GENRE: Technical death metal COUNTRY: Russia FORMAT: CD LABEL: Self financed YEAR: 2011 RATING: 7/10 REVIEWED BY: PSL PROVIDED BY: Buicide Buicide is a Saint Petersburg located four-piece. The band just finished recording its new full-length album Evaluation Machines and the three song teaser that I've received is a taster of what to come. It's obvious that the band is strongly inspired by Chuck Schuldiner and Death, in particular the later material. The music is in the vein of Death, actually most of it sound a lot like Death. That is of course not a bad thing, but it doesn't give Buicide's music much personality. Not that I find that to be much of an issue because the four-piece are definitely able to pull it off. The song-writing is competent. There lots going on in the music and it has the needed catchiness and diversity to be exciting. The solos are very good as well and provide the music with that something extra. I think the three songs on the preview promise very well, and if you like the later material by Death then you'll definitely also like Buicide. |
