On the three song EP Corruption the Dutch band Caedere has taken a turn in direction. The changes are not all that big, but it's noticeable. It's like the music on Corruption has a more up to date type of feel to it. The music is of course death metal, but mixed with grindcore type of riffs.

Not sure if I like the changes all that much. There are both pros and cones. Obviously it profits the music that the band tries to widen its sound, but it partially seems to be on the expense of the groovy and catchy parts. Sure there are many catchy riffs and parts on the EP, but they are just not as central as before. However on "Fury Unleashed" the band does prove that it hasn't dumped its past inspirations. That song is the best of the three, closely followed by "Better Be Deceased".

I guess Corruption is a preview of what to come. There are things in the music I don't like all that much, but overall I think the three songs promise well. If you like conventional death metal mixed with some grindcore riffs then you'll probably also like what Caedere is doing.
