Chile's Chronicus plays brutal deathgrind strongly inspired by the American scene. The music is not particularly inventive, but the Chileans do some degree put their touch to it. Often the band makes room in the music for slower and heavier elements. It works well and provides a needed difference from the more brutal and antagonistic aspects of the songs. The low guttural growls combined with pig squeals also add to the ominous feel of the MCD. It's very likely the Chronicus don't differ much from so much else, but the band has been able to create music that is worth a listen.
