Code Of Lies is an Australian trio formed in 2007. The band play a mix of grindcore and death metal and get a lot of their inspiration from early Pig Destroyer and Nasum, but the three Australians also find inspiration in the music of Psyopus as well as many other bands.

Code Of Lies blend some groove in the music as well as adding a bit of melody now and then. These different things are mixed with techy grind and it creates an interesting combination, but on the whole the music is not that different from so much else done these days, but it works okay.

The vocals are a feverish mix of low end growls and high-pitched vocals. These fit the music very well and add to the brutality of the music as well as providing the song with some personality. It's clear that the three Australians know what they are doing, but something I miss is a fatter guitar tone to make up for the missing bass. The guitar is often very thin and at times it tends to vanish among the drums and vocals. It doesn't exactly make the music all that compact.

The Age of Disgrace is all in all an alright EP. There are some good ideas now and then that promise well for what next to come, but it's an EP that also have it's shortcomings, but not in a catastrophic way.
