Damn this is some intense stuff. Somehow Australia and now New Zealand seem to spawn some of the most fucked up and twisted metal ever released. I'm not quite sure where to begin and how to describe the music Dawn Of Azazel plays but we're basically dealing with death metal with more than a few elements from black, thrash metal and grindcore. Sure this may not sound very original but I can assure you that their style is quite unique. I cannot recall having heard anything like this before. The music seems very chaotic and even a few times somewhat disharmonic but not in a negative way.
At times the vocals seem a little too present in the soundscape but never so much that it becomes annoying. I'm in particular thinking on the sequence towards the end of "Victory [Iniquity Guides My Blade]" which does get a little too much with all the screaming ha-ha. The music itself is fairly diverse with lots of breaks and other stuff but where the band actually sound the best in my opinion is in the more straight forward songs like "Immortal Dominance" and "Monarch of Bloodshed and Eternal Victory [Solar Invictus]". The last mentioned has some cool military like drumming in the beginning and towards the end of the song which really gives a cool feel to the music.
If you looking for something out of the ordinary then The Law of the Strong may be good investment however be prepared on that it may take more than just a few rotations in the CD-player before it really sinks in but it's worth it.
