First I thought: "What the f**k is this?!" But after giving it multiple listens, I finally managed to tell the songs apart. Well, at least I think so. Actually, the more I come to think of it, I'm not really so sure. Decrepit Birth comes out blasting with a supersonic wall of sound right from track one which gets a little monotone along the line. And it doesn't really help much that Tim Yeung of Hate Eternal/Vital Remains fame is sitting behind the kit. How hard I try, I just really can't get past the drum sound, which sounds artificial and is obviously caused by the exaggerated use of drum triggers.

Decrepit Birth's sound lies somewhere in between Deeds Of Flesh and the mighty Suffocation but they don't really sound like any of the aforementioned bands. But it's really a shame that their music seems to drown in an undeterminably mass of double drums, blastbeats and guitars, or otherwise it would have been amazing. Sure, the music is as tight as a virgin's twat but it doesn't help much when it's nearly impossible to hear what's going on. Actually, one of the only places where they show their true skill is in the slower instrumental track "Of Genocide" and the title track, which has a few slower parts built in, making the song more diverse and approachable. If only they would have used a little more time on creating some varied arrangements instead of only focusing on the brutality and speed, …And Time Begins would have been a great release but now it floats around among the rest of the average stuff out there.

Decrepit Birth deliver 30 minutes of pure and utter brutality. Well it's actually a truth with modifications 'cause if you look apart from the use of samples in the song "…And Time Begins" , it doesn't even clock 25 minutes, which is in my opinion at little too short for a full-length release. Hopefully, Decrepit Birth will make a few adjustments on their next release, and then there no telling how high in the ranks they'll climb.
