I reviewed the 2006 demo There's More Blood Coming a couple of years ago. The music on the demo had obvious hints to early Cannibal Corpse. The two songs on the demo has been reused on AnthroposDeadGoreDisgustingPhagia so obviously the hints to Cannibal Corpse are very much there, but overall I don't think these are as apparent as earlier on.
The music is conventional. There's definitely nothing different here, but that doesn't automatically make it boring. The song-writing is good. The songs are diverse and have what it takes to be interesting. The music is mostly fast, but catchy. There are many good riffs and parts. Like for instance on "Squeezing Necks", "Bloodshed" and "Tumor". It definitely doesn't hurt either that a solo or two pops up in most of the songs. These do of course add that extra something to the songs.
The music is brutal, primitive and straight forward. I like this a lot as it makes the music truthful. The production is grime and unpolished. There are both pros and cons about that, but overall I think it profits the music.
AnthroposDeadGoreDisgustingPhagia is a good debut. There's not a lot of surprises, but it does what it's supposed to do. If you like fast and in-your-face death metal then AnthroposDeadGoreDisgustingPhagia is hard to avoid. It's full throttle from start to finish, but it doesn't get tiring.
