The band that has become the very epitome of Swedish old school death metal is back. The death metal institution known as Dismember is finally ready after nearly five years of absence with their sixth full-length album entitled Where Iron Crosses Grow and was it worth the wait?! The answer is definitely yes.

Where Iron Crosses Grow is an energy filled release that definitely has a lot more to offer than their previous album Hate Campaign had. Right from the opener "Where Iron Crosses Grow" its clear that Dismember is back with full force and they manage to keep the intensity and ferocity throughout the album even though it seem to loose a little of the energy towards the end. Dismember has always had an incredible flair for writing great songs and they doesn't disappoint this time either. With incredible songs such as the title track, "Forged With Hate" - a song that spells power and intensity with capital letters and especially the incredible "Tragedy of the Faithful" which almost borders to becoming pure Iron Maiden towards the end so they don't disappoint in any way. But of course the rest of the material is also very much above average and typical Dismember so there's really nothing to fear 'cause Dismember definitely deliver the goods. If I should compare Where Iron Crosses Grow to any of their previous material it would probably be with the Death Metal album even though it also bears some resemblances with Indecent and Obscene too.

Furthermore Dismember have enlisted Dan Seagrave to once again do the artwork. Last time Dismember used the skills of Dan Seagrave was on their now classic debut Like An Everflowing Stream from '91. Where Iron Crosses Grow is a rock solid old school death metal release that can almost not disappoint any fans of this incredible band.
