The first Giants of Grind I DVD was a very mixed experience due to various things. The latest instalment in the series Giants of Grind II shows improvement, both with regards to the layout and setup, but also to the footage which this time is shot with four cameras from various angles. It makes it even more dynamic and interesting to watch. The DVD was once again shot at the annual Giants of Grind Festival in Salzgitter, Germany.

The festival this time is a little more interesting for my concern with bands like Third Degree, Suppository and Jigsore Terror on the bill. There's 67 minutes of music from 10 bands and it's a pretty good taster of what these bands do and are about. It's a mixed bag of stuff with Total Mass Confusion, Third Degree, Mastic Scum and Suppository being the best and Dysmorfic and Depression being the worst. The quality of the footage appears better and more professional this time and so does the sound. The only time where the sound appear a bit blurry or messed up is during the Dysmorfic and Depression gigs.

Moreover there's interviews with Dysmorfic, Mastic Scum, Depression, Jigsore Terror and Mesrine. These interviews are fun enough to watch once or perhaps twice, but none of them are very informative so it's nothing that beg to be seen again. Furthermore there's the usual gallery thing as well as a few other extras, but nothing fancy or particular interesting. Giants of Grind II is a good DVD that ought to satisfy the all-loving grindcore fan and particular those who like the bands featured.
