The Spectrum of Metal Madness is a split CD with the two Polish bands Embrional and Empheris. The split CD mostly consist of cover songs, including music by Sarcofago, Pestilence, Obituary and many other. To be honest it's not very exciting. Sure the music is well played. The problem is that there's nothing unusual about the cover songs and that quickly become boring.

Both bands are also featured with two of their own songs. These don't make it anymore interesting. Both Embrional and Empheris mix death metal with elements of black metal, it's not bad, but not very exciting either.

I admit that the two bands are good at what they do, but it doesn't change the fact that it's all mediocre. In spite of giving the split CD quite a few chances I couldn't help getting bored. If you're a fan of any of the two, or perhaps both, then you'll most likely enjoy The Spectrum of Metal Madness a lot more than I did.
