I actually thought that the French death metal band Eternal had disbanded, but thankfully the four-piece has now surfaced on Obscure Domain. This cooperation has now resulted in The Berserk's Legions Defiance.

The music is dark death metal that shares some similarities with Krisiun, Rebaelliun and Nephasth. The four-piece play fast, but do often shift to moderate or almost slow parts. It works like it should, and combined with some good riffs and a few sporadic solos the music does have enough substance to stay interesting. Above all the music is conventional, but not in a bad way.

The production is dirty, but also somewhat dry. It does fit well to the feel of the songs. The Berserk's Legions Defiance is a standard effort from start to finish and it does have its shortcomings along the way, but if you, just as I, like straight forward and gloomy death metal then it's not a bad effort at all.
