Et Moriemur is a Czech six-piece. The band plays doom metal with strong undertones of death metal. The style reminds me a bit of Saturnus, early My Dying Bride and Anathema. The Czechs are loyal to the genre. It's not like the band tries anything that has already been done. That of course doesn't automatically make it bad, and it isn't.

The music is obviously slow, but the six-piece is able to make it diverse and overall interesting. The band use keyboard to add some additional feel to the songs and it works well. The vocals are also diverse. Zdenek Nevìlík change between growls and clean singing. Just like the keyboards it adds a lot to the feel of the music. The music is heavy and bleak. What I like about Cupio Dissolvi is that it on the whole has a gloomy and disturbing feel to it.

The production isn't all the great. The drums in particular tend to be kind of muddy. It does affect the music, but not in a major way.

Cupio Dissolvi is a well-rounded effort. There's no unnecessarily filler to bore, but as I wrote before the band doesn't think outside the box and try anything different. It does make it all a bit predictable, but it's not much of an issue. If you like doom metal mixed with bits and pieces of death metal then Cupio Dissolvi is worth a chance.
