Usually I find the so-called tribute, or cover albums if you will, of no relevance as I'd rather listen to the original recording instead. Gore freaks Exhumed apparently figured out it was their turn to put out one of these albums. They've picked a very diverse list of bands to cover spanning from The Cure, Led Zeppelin, Samhain and Metallica to more underground stuff like Unseen Terror, Master, Epidemic and Sadus. Having little or no knowledge of some of the bands, it's a little difficult to say if the songs stay close to the originals or not, but the ones I know I'd say that Exhumed add their share of ideas to the rendition of these songs, and I think it works very well. It all sounds very much like Exhumed.
The production appears to be a little odd as it mostly sounds filthy and somewhat raw with the exception of the leads which all sound very clear compared to the rest, but it's something that doesn't take long to get accustomed to. The leads are actually also a major reason why I find Garbage Daze Re-regurgitated worthwhile. Mostly I quickly get bored with these kind of releases, as they don't offer anything that for obvious reasons haven't been heard before, but I find Garbage Daze Re-regurgitated a little different due to
the fact that the music sounds like Exhumed and not just like some copy of the original makes Garbage Daze Re-regurgitated worth checking out.
