Fuck The Facts is a productive band. It's difficult to keep track of all the splits, EP's and what else the band has put out. Being that productive could jeopardize the quality of the music, but that doesn't seem to be much of a problem on Die Miserable.

The Canadian five-piece go on with its trademark sound. The music is of course a mixture of grindcore, groove metal, noise, death metal, rock and all in between. The music isn't the easiest to digest right away, but it gets better and better the more I listen to it. The bizarre blend of genres work well, and it is also a big part of what makes Die Miserable an interesting effort.

There's a lot going on in the music. The band doesn't limit itself, but often try to think outside of the box and be a little different. Here and there bizarre melodies pop up, like on "Lifeless", "Alone" or "A Cowards Existence". It profits the music and gives it a catchy twist without making it predicable.

Some of the songs have parts that are almost drone music or parts that are slow and sludgy. Often the slower parts end by erupting in a more death metal fuelled sort of pace. Overall the music has a bleak and disturbing feel, and I like that. Mel Mongeon's vocals definitely also help underline the dreary in the music. Her vocals are both powerful and passionate.

If you're already a fan of the band then it's just go and get Die Miserable. It has all that you would expect of the Canadian five-piece.
