A song like "Razorized Ball Gag" very well sums up what Guttural Secrete is all about; brutal and relentless deathgrind. The Nevada based trio makes no effort in trying to do something different. They just churn out some violent music and I like that. It's obvious that the band is aiming for the grotesquely heavy and brutal, but that is just perfect as Guttural Secrete are able to provide the music with a certain amount of diversity and catchiness. It's clear that Reek of Pubescent Despoilment is all about celebrating intensity and perversion and that is just fine. Unlike some other bands Guttural Secrete never tends to become a monotone blur of noise. The band definitely knows what they are doing.

The music of course relies on all the clichés found in deathgrind; the sick and ultra low growls, the heavy guitars and violent drums. Not to mention the bizarre samples and perverted lyrics. It's all close to the perfect, but the different samples tend to pull down a little. It's obvious that these are borrowed from various flicks, but seen as a whole it doesn't work that well because it's just too noticeable that they don't come from just one movie and thus making the continuity lack a bit. Fans of brutal death metal in the vein of Devourment, Disgorge or Suffocation will most likely love this. Reek of Pubescent Despoilment is a pretty safe investment you want your music brutal.
