The French death metal band Heresic Synopsis draws on inspiration from different bands like Dying Fetus, Gojira and Necrophagist. Unfortunately the Frenchmen don't really succeed in making the music very exciting compared to their inspirations. A lot of this is because of the moderate or rather slow pace - it too often kills off the intensity in the songs. The music is most appealing when things are a little faster like on "Cadavres Automatisés". The worst thing however is that there's too long between the fascinating parts. Often there's not much that stand out in the songs - the music feels too anonymous and trivial.
On a positive note I like that the bass is audible. It gets a lot of space and it adds both something organic and diverse to the music. The band sings in French and I find this to be another asset. However these positive things are not enough to make up for the lack of intensity and vigour in the songs. "The closer "Transastral" is by far the best track and it shows some good ideas - it also has a lot of the things I miss in most of the other songs. Le Peuple Du Vide is not overly exciting, but it could definitely have been a lot worse.
