Dutch death metallers Houwitser are ready with the successor to the godly Rage inside the Womb and do they manage to lift the burden? Well, no.
Rage inside the Womb was a showcase of utterly brutal death metal with a perfect blend of hellish riffing, an infernal battery of drums and ultra low grunts, all bonded together by sick samples whereas the sound on Damage Assessment seems a little thin compared to the abovementioned album. And to tell the truth, the machine gun samples on Damage Assessment sound like something stolen from a bad computer game. Disappointing indeed; I had expected more from such an excellent band. But when all this is said, Damage Assessment is still an average release which will probably still please many out there.
