Human Excoriation play straight forward death metal of the brutal kind. The Americans find inspiration in bands like Beheaded and Devourment among others. The music is fairly varied as the band includes everything from fast to slower groovy slam parts. However the Americans seem to concentrate mostly on the fast parts. It's safe to say that Human Excoriation is not out to set any new standards for the genre, but regardless of this the result is convincing.

It doesn't hurt the overall impression either that Human Excoriation include their rendition of the Pyaemia classic "Sugar Spiced Anus". The production is fat and meaty, but also clear enough so nothing vanish in a wall of mud. Virulent Infestation has its ups and downs, but largely the band is able to save it, so if you like US styled death metal with slam parts and all that belong then Virulent Infestation is definitely not the worst buy.
