Hymen Holocaust is a relatively new one-man band formed by Cliteater drummer Maurice. The music is macabre goregrind comparable to Bile, but also very early Carcass without being too far-fetched. The songs are fairly varied and particular the tempo varies quite a bit. Moreover the music is ultra heavy and often very groove, but still rather brutal. The grotesque and gurgling vocals are pretty sick and add a lot to the mood of the songs, as do the bizarre samples that pop up here and there.

The production is fat and the guitars have a much distorted sound thus making the soundscape compact. There's nothing here that hasn't already been tried by a million others before, but nevertheless Necromance is still pretty good. If you like goregrind then Necromance is definitely worth a closer look as it do have quite a bit to offer.
