Spanish death metal is not something I stumble across every day but occasionally something pops up and this time it's in shape of brutal and technical death metallers Imbrue. It would be a truth with modifications if I said the music was original because it really isn't, sure the band has ideas and trademarks of their own but it just doesn't differ a whole lot from other releases out there, however, the music is often very chaotic and downright schizophrenic and that add a bit of identity to the songs. Often it all ends in some odd breaks only to go in a different direction. It works well and the majority of the songs are fairly interesting and diverse but without ever becoming really overwhelming. With each listen new details seem to occur and that of course help to prevent Cado Datur Verbs from getting stale.

The production pulls down in the overall impression simply because it sounds too thin and without any real punch. On the other hand the details don't drown in a flood of mud so I guess it's really a matter of taste. The more I listen to the album two songs like "Traumatos ek Pronoias" and "Nothingness is Her Smile" seems to be the most memorable and worthwhile but the remaining tracks are decent too. If you don't expect too much of your death metal and is willing to settle with something that lies around the average then Cado Datur Verbs is worth getting but if you expect to find the next Gorgasm or Deeds Of Flesh here then don't bother.
