On their Goregiastic Records debut the Japanese death metal sickos Infernal Revulsion present a groovy and potent slap of brutal US death metal. The music is inspired by combos such as Skinless, Dying Fetus and Suffocation. Infernal Revulsion try no new tricks and rely much on the inspiration from the aforementioned, but what the music lacks in originality the diversity plenty make up for. The music is mostly centred on slower mid-tempo sections with a lot of groove, but the band often throw in fast or slam parts to spice it up. It creates the needed variation and makes the music even more interesting.

It also benefits the overall impression that a couple of tasteful horror samples show up from time to time. These add to the macabre feel of the music. The vocals are typical deep guttural growls without a lot of variation, but they are vigorous enough to be an asset to the music. The production is thick and meaty. And regardless of the chunky sound it's quite easy to hear what is going on. Infernal Revulsion may be newcomers, but they clearly know what they are doing. The Japanese show some promising potential with Devastate Under Hallucination. Be prepared for some sick Kansai brutality.
