On Procreating an Apocalypse Inherit Disease don't sound very different from other brutal death metal bands. Actually they sound very much like most of their fellow American colleagues. Of course it can be debated whether that is good or bad, but fact is that the quartet is doing a solid job and then originality is not so much of an issue. The music is aggressive and extreme, but the unit doesn't focus solely on having a blastbeat contest. As often as the music is fast it's also slow. This provides the right amount of diversity for the songs to stay interesting. It doesn't hurt either that the bass is allowed to be a fairly clear part of the soundscape too.

Most of the songs clock around the three minutes which is very fitting as the unit doesn't tend to repeat things and that way sound too much the same. As with many bands playing this style of death metal solos is a rare thing and it's no different with Inherit Disease, but somehow the band succeed in compensating for this by giving room for the bass and not just relying on an inferno of blastbeats. The songs lack a bit of tightness now and then, but overall Procreating an Apocalypse is a solid debut that should satisfy fans of brutal death metal with a slight technical twist.
