To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Inhumate the band organised a concert in Strasbourg, France in October 2005 alongside with Mumakil, Ingrowing and Deranged. The result of this concert has now made it unto DVD and the outcome is impressive.
The DVD is professionally shot with five cameras from different angles. It makes the footage intense and interesting to watch. Mostly the recording is razor sharp, although it happens that it gets a little blurry from time to time, but overall the quality is really good. It also benefits the experience that the sound is fat and forceful. It gives the whole thing a very compact and intense visual expression. Both the band and audience are fired up and Inhumate put on an intense and energetic performance. In particular vocalist Christophe is going completely crazy which is very entertaining. It's also crazy to see how the audience invades the scene throughout the concert. These small things among other add nicely to the feel of the DVD. It's obvious that both band and audience is having a great time. For obvious reasons the interacting between the band and audience is in French, but it's not something that spoils anything for us who barely know a single word in French.
The bonus material on the DVD consist of vintage footage from 1993 and forth. Like with most other home videos the material is of a doubtful quality. On most DVD's it goes from good to terrible and it's really not any different here. Nevertheless it's always fun to watch vintage material like this. At War with Inhumate is a solid DVD that ought to please any Inhumate fan. If you aren't already familiar with the French grindcore merchants then this is not the worst place to start.
