If you're on the lookout for some brutal music then Born Blood Portrait shouldn't disappoint as it's a pretty cruel affair. The music is death grind with the almost obligatory splash of groove. It doesn't differ much, if anything from so much else out there. The music is varied and skilfully written, but nevertheless it doesn't get too exciting. In between the songs there are some small noisy samples. I'm a little split between those because on one hand it works well by adding both diversity and mood to the soundscape, but on the other it also get rather tiresome to listen to after a while. So all in all it isn't really an asset.
I fail to hear anything here that hasn't been tried lots of times before, but I wouldn't say this is a downside. Born Blood Portrait is not a bad debut in any way, but it's not overly interesting either. My conclusion must be that Born Blood Portrait is a standard release, nothing more, nothing less, but the band clearly demonstrate potential so who knows how far they can take this.
