I didn't like much of what Japanische Kampfhörspiele did on Bilder Fressen Strom so I didn't expect much of Kaputte Nackte Affen, but it's definitely a lot better than the Germans last two efforts. No doubt that that band have its own style and it's no different on Kaputte Nackte Affen. As always the six-piece doesn't do the same thing twice.

The music is grindcore mixed with lots of punk and a bit of thrash metal. The result is diverse and it's obvious that the band have lots of bizarre inputs. The riffs and parts are overall more exciting. There are a few electronic and somewhat noisy inputs in some of the songs. It's fits well and overall the music feels more catchy on Kaputte Nackte Affen.

The songs have an unpolished and a laid back feel to them and I like that. The music is mostly moderate and the Germans don't play fast all that often. It works okay, however I miss some brutality to get things going, but I admit some of the slower parts are very good.

Where things do get a bit too much for my liking is the discordant vocals. It was the same on Bilder Fressen Strom and the bands other efforts. I know that it's a big part of the Germans style, but it get really annoying after a while. The vocals do vary, but most of the time it's an uproarious shouting. It doesn't really help a whole lot either that Japanische Kampfhörspiele sings in German. I usually don't mind this, but here it makes it all feel a little too comical.

It seems that Japanische Kampfhörspiele broke up after completing Kaputte Nackte Affen. I guess it's very fitting as Kaputte Nackte Affen is by far the best I've heard from the German six-piece so you could say that the band goes out on top.
