On Supreme Authority Kataplexia play some brutal, but very generic death metal. Can't say I've heard Kataplexia's music before, but the band do impress despite the standard approach. Stylewise the Finnish band is strongly inspired by the American scene and it shows as Kataplexia don't differ from the vast majority of bands playing this brutal style of death metal.

The song-writing is decent and there are no unpleasant surprises along the way. On the other hand there's not that much either that make you go "wauw". It's in every way a predictable effort, but I like it as it's played competent and tight. Supreme Authority is no revelation, but it's in no way bad either. If' you like your death metal straight forward then Kataplexia is worth a closer look if you're not already familiar with their music.
