Kreon is a band that draws on inspiration from Autopsy, Immolation and Reverend Bizarre amongst other. The music is old school death metal mixed with some doomy parts. The Germans also incorporate hints of melody now and then.

The songs are detailed with lots of good riffs. To create additional diversity Kreon efficiently changes between slower, doom-like parts and some more up-tempo and straight forward death metal. "Name Your Poison" and "Doomologic" demonstrate this. Moreover the band also adds a good amount of solos. These create additional mood to the music and makes it all that more captivating.

The vocals are like a mix of Jörgen Sandström and Morgoth vocalist Marc Grewe and it fits the music ideal. The music has a certain 1990's ring to it. The production is fat and somewhat dirty. That combination feels just right - it adds that little extra something that makes it all come together on Impact Winter.

It's not like Kreon does anything that hasn't already been done before, but the German are able to get away with it thanks to good song-writing. The music has what it takes to stay interesting.
