I've heard Last Days of Humanity mentioned and praised by many, but I've actually never heard their music before now. Putrefaction in Progress is apparently the swansong release from the Dutch sickos. The music is goregrind of the most violent kind. Forget about fancy intros, samples and other gimmicks as there is none. This is pure and utter brutality from start to finish.

The band hacks and slashes their way through 41 songs in a little more than 25 minutes! If these guys slowed down and played the music at pop music rate then there would be music for days on Putrefaction in Progress, that's how fast and inhumanly brutal this is. The band of course relies on most of the clichés found in this subgenre and to a great degree it works as it should, but the music suffers under an obvious lack of variation. I would have given the CD a higher score if there had been some samplers or something else to add to the diversity, but there isn't and frankly it end up being a one-tracked blastbeat massacre. It sounds good for the first ten songs, but after that it all tends to sound the same. Sure the band tries to vary things a little, but it's not enough to keep my attention for a longer period.

If you like your music super violent and brutal then Putrefaction in Progress is not a bad pick, but if you demand a little more than just 25 minutes of blastbeats, downtuned guitars and ultra low gurgling growls then I suggest you look elsewhere.
