Just because a band has a lengthy history it's no guarantee that the music is exhilarating and that is exactly how it is with Spanish deathers Lightning. The band practice some much uninspired death metal that at times makes me think of the Polish deathers in Decapitated. The music is moderately varied in terms of riffing, but when it comes to the pace the Spaniards mostly focus on the slower perspective. This among other things is a factor why the music quickly becomes a relatively tiresome encounter.

There are some interesting things going on here and there, but far too little to make me stay focused for more than a short period. Another factor that is impossible to ignore is the to some extent sterile production. It definitely doesn't help on the overall impression either. Sure it's great that it's possible to hear everything going on, but in this case it makes the music seem rather toothless. No doubt that the musicianship is good, but unfortunately the result isn't very exciting thus the low score.
