F.D.A. Rekotz just put out the Violent Headache / Necromorph split CD. I'm a newbie to Violent Headache, but Necromorph is a different story.

Violent Headache play grindcore mixed with bits and pieces of hardcore and crust. It works as it should. The music is energetic and catchy. There's nothing atypical in how the Spaniards play. And the music isn't very brutal or compact, but Violent Headache is able to make its stripped down music exciting and that is of course what matters. I like the laid back and unpretentious feel that most of the songs have.

Necromorph isn't exactly unknown to me and much like the music on Inputcollapse the songs on the split CD are clear-cut death metal mixed with bits and pieces of grindcore and thrash metal. Most of the songs are good and overall I find the riffs and parts to be catchy.

If you like uncomplicated grindcore or death metal then the Violent Headache / Necromorph split CD is not the worst CD to get.
