Welcome to Reality was recorded back in 2005, but not officially released until April 2008. Resistant Culture is virtually unknown to me so I really don't know a great deal about the band besides that they've gone by different names during the years and that some of the members has been involved in other projects as well.

Stylewise the Americans play something as unusual as tribal grind crust. The music reminds me a lot of Napalm Death and Terrorizer and that is perhaps not so strange because the late Jesse Pintado contributed to writing some of the music on Welcome to Reality. Moreover vocalist Anthony Rezhawk who sang on the latest Terrorizer album Darker Days Ahead is also a part of the band. The band mix in some native American tribal music into some of the songs and this is definitely helping to give the music a different expression than the usual straight forward grindcore type of thing. However the songs still work the best when the band just grind like on "Misery", "Forced Conformity", "Corruption" and "Civilized Aggression".

Contrary to most grindcore bands Resistant Culture play at a more moderate tempo a lot of the time. This also gives the music a more diverse feel as it's not one long blastbeat contest. Welcome to Reality is no masterpiece, but Resistant Culture has made an album there is catchy and uncommon enough to make it interesting to listen to more than just once or twice.
