If it's new-thinking you're looking for, then Supreme Pain is not the band for you. It's clear that Supreme Pain is not trying to invent death metal all over again on the debut Cadaver Pleasures. The band relies on the fundamentals of the genre, but that doesn't mean the music is boring. The songs are nuanced with mostly centre on the fast in the music, but Supreme Pain blend in lots of mid-tempo parts and other elements too. It provides the needed diversity for Cadaver Pleasures to be interesting.

In general the song-writing is proficient and there's not much to criticize, but some of the songs have a tendency to be a little too long and a few places it seems that the music is losing some of its momentum. The band is largely able to save it thanks to some good riffs and solos, but it would definitely not have hurt if Supreme Pain had made a few of the songs a little shorter. Nevertheless Cadaver Pleasures is an effort that is above the mediocre. It's no work of art, but it's a debut that has enough drive and substance to be entertaining.
