The Down Going is a grindcore duo from Sydney, Australia. The music on the self-titled demo is simple grindcore. The band doesn't try anything different and it's obvious that The Down Going isn't very experienced yet.

The duo does show glimpse of something that is interesting, but most of it vanish in anonymous and uninteresting parts. There are really not a lot of catchy parts in what the band is doing. It doesn't exactly profit the music either that the production is thin and flat. The vocals tend to almost vanish among the drums and the guitars. All this doesn't make the music appear tight or brutal.

It will take some additional work and practice before The Down Going will be exciting and can match other Australian bands like Blood Duster or Fuck…I'm Dead, but never say never.
