08. United Forces

On this self-titled MCD Uprise practice some pretty standardized grindcore. There's nothing unheard found here whatsoever, but that doesn't mean that Uprise don't know what they are doing. The songs are skilful put together. The music is mostly quite fast, but the Czechs are good at varying things and they often slow it down a bit thus creating additional nuances to the soundscape. The band finish it all of with a rendition of the S.O.D. song "United Forces". Uprise stays loyal to the original so that track doesn't really add or withdraw anything from the overall impression. Uprise is an MCD that circles around the mediocre. It's obvious that the band has the skills, but they don't really transfer to something particularly captivating.
