It's been a while since the previous CD Primal Massacre, but Vomitory are now ready with the successor Terrorize, Brutalize, Sodomize and that is exactly what the Swedes do - terrorize and brutalize. Overall the music has become somewhat faster and more brutal than on past efforts. Don't worry, all the Vomitory characteristics are intact, but the music appears far more potent and hard-hitting this time. While the music mostly is very fast, the Swedes do stop up now and then. It provides Terrorize, Brutalize, Sodomize with just the right amount of diversity for it to stay interesting.
If it's new-thinking you're looking for, then Vomitory is not the band for you. The unit doesn't try any new tricks. The Swedes relies heavily on things already tried and that is fine with me. Like previously there are some obvious references to Bolt Thrower [in "March into Oblivion"] and Obituary [in "The Burning Black"]. I don't mind this at all since it help emphasising the old-school feel in the music. Terrorize, Brutalize, Sodomize is a CD that doesn't pretend to be more than it is - a slap of old-school brutality.
