I've heard about Vorkreist before, but actually never heard their music until now. Stylewise the band is inspired by Angel Corpse, Belphegor and Morbid Angel.
In other words the music is death metal with a lot of black metal mingled in. The songs are varied, but mostly kept in the faster end of the scale. The band does slow down a little once in a while like for instance in "Mystical Hierarchy of Perdition", but only to raise the pace almost immediately again. The vocals vary between growl and black metal vocals. It adds further to the diversity of music. The band also incorporates some heavy passages once in a while like in "TortureKult" which help colour the soundscape.
The production is dirty, but still fairly clear and powerful. It really does the music justice. The songs are skilfully written and in particularly "Great Order of Sterile Lunacy", "Sublimation xxixA", "TortureKult" and "Ecstatic in Repulsion" are valuable. Not at any point does the music get tiresome to listen to and with each listen small new things seem to pop up. If you like music in the vein of Angel Corpse and Belphegor then Sublimation xxixA is not to avoid.
With Sublimation xxixA Vorkreist have placed themselves in the top of the French underground.
