Apart from the info on the trios Facebook page I know nothing about the Italian band We Are Building Ruins. The band is inspired by Nasum, Misery Index and Suffocation to name a few.

The music is of course grinding death metal with a contemporary touch. It's not like it is very different from much else that is put out these days, but that doesn't make it bad. However it takes a little more to get noticed today and We Are Building Ruins tend to be a little anonymous in terms of the song-writing. The music is groovy with some noisy riffs added here and there. And the band plays both fast and slow. That does provide the music with diversity. The Italians play tight and in-your-face, but I miss some better riffs here and there. The catchy parts too few. Best song is "Raft of the Medusa".

The three songs on this demo do promise well for what next to come. However there's work to be done before this gets really interesting.
