The music on Silvottuna ja Häpäistynä is death metal, but often the Finns tends to flirt a little too much with black metal. This doesn't really appeal to my liking. I find the music to sound the best when the quintet aims for a more full-fledged death metal approach like in "Inho". Still the musical expression tends to lack a bit. Sure the songs are well-played and clearly the band has some good ideas, but somehow it doesn't really transfer into something captivating. It's like the catchiness is not present.
The band sings in their native language Finnish. That works well, but doesn't really provide any greater difference. The production appears rather thin at times. I find this to be unfortunate as the guitars miss some serious punch. There are some good elements on Silvottuna ja Häpäistynä, but also quite a few less impressive ones and this place the effort somewhere around the mediocre.
